What is QC-CAMBOT®?

QC-CAMBOT® is a simple device designed to determine the steel fiber content of concrete prism. The amount is obtaine indirectly measuring the inductance of the prism on three orthogonal positions (x, y, z). The sum of these three values in linearly proportional to the total amount of steel fibers in the sample.

How is QC-CAMBOT® useful?

QC-CAMBOT® is a useful device for companies or research centers that use fiber-reinforced concrete or UHPC. Precasters can use it to control the fiber content of their mix, identifiying segregation or problems on its distribution. Pavers can use it easily to detect if the concrete has the content of steel fibers agreed with the provider. Users can also obtain the real steel fiber content of a prism submitted to a flexutal test to carry out an accurate inverse analysis. In summary, QC-CAMBOT® allows to know in detail the real fiber content in a cube avoiding the wash-out or other complex methodologies.

Why is QC-CAMBOT® a smart device?

Measurement in Hardened State

Connect the USB-C cable to your smartphone (with the free App already installed).

Enter the conversion factor to obtain the results as a percentage on fibers in volume. To obtain the results in inductance (ηH), leave this field blank.

Perform a baseline measurement without a sample, ensuring the sample is at least 0.3 meter away from the device.
Measure the sample along the X-axis, then along the Y-axis, and finally along the Z-axis.
Within 3 seconds,  QC-CAMBOT® percentage of fibers (or total inductance) and estimates the fiber orientation coefficient along the X-axis.
Measurement in Fresh State

Follow steps 1 and 2 and then…

A. Fill the testing vessel with fresh concrete, leveling it to the top.

B. Place the lid and secure it with the two safety bands so you can rotate the vessel without the material spilling out.

Then follow the steps 3 to 5 and Clean the testing vessel thoroughly to prepare it for the next use.

How to request a QC-CAMBOT®?

QC-CAMBOT® is produced by RDC, engineering company expert in special concretes. You can request your QC-CAMBOT® writing a mail to ecamacho@rdconcrete.com, calling to +34 669 08 50 20 or filling out the form below .

The device is sent to the client a maximum of 4 weeks after formal order. The product includes a concrete prism to verify the proper functioning of the device, and the conversion factors of the most frequent fiber typologies. RDC can also obtain the factors for any specific fiber used by the client.

QC-CAMBOT® is produced in accordance with the UNE 83518:2024,  Concrete with fibers. Determination of fiber content in samples of fiber reinforced concrete using inductive method.
